Simba is a chewer too, although not quite so much nowadays. However he still enjoys a Nylabone now and then...generally he chews the sides of it but I have had a niggle about it here and there so I suppose I will have to chuck them out. It is difficult to know what to give them. I tried rawhide but he was gagging on it, however I tried again with the type that are bits of rawhide pressed together and that worked better.

Hope Culli is okay at the dentist, no fun for anyone! :(

Poor Cuilli. Injury to her tooth was too bad to save the tooth so its been extracted. Horribly painful, she is on morphine and is home but completely disorientated. Poo'd herself in the car on the way home and wee'd in the lounge, she hasnt done that since she was thirteen weeks old...she is just pacing round the house now whining and whining pitifully, cant sit still. shes completely disorientated after the GA. She's two sorts of painkillers to start at five o clock, hopefully one type should send her to sleep wee soul...and antibiotics. Soft food for ten days. Im gutted for her she is so distressed, please watch what your pups chew on folks...dentist was very clear, nothing you can' t get your thumbail into, hard chews a big no no

Ah, poor Cuilli. Get well soon. The effects of the GA will wear off soon, I hope.

Poor Cuillin and it must be awful for you to see her like that. Hopefully when the GA has worn off and the pain killers kicked in she will feel happier.

I'm pleased to be able to report that the Kong Extreme Goodie Bone has passed the Scout chomp challenge with flying colours. He was giving it some really heavy chewing this morning trying to get to the seajerky inside and no damage. In fact hardly any marks its quite amazing stuff. I went for the extreme as its for power chewers. The website didn't give a choice of size and when it arrived it was medium for dogs upto 16kg. I put Kong extreme goodie bone large in Google but nowhere sold them. OH even looked in pets at home on his way home and they only had medium in the extreme. You can get large in the normal strength. However size wise it's plenty big enough and obviously tough enough now scouts given it a good mauling.

I think Brodick and Cuillin, when she's feeling better, will enjoy them.

Fingers crossed Cuillin is back to normal very soon.

I really feel for the poor girl.....do hope she picks up.
Lilly was awful when she had IM tramadol. .. ..distressed, whining, hallucinating. And lost the power in her back legs. Needed help to get up and down and was too unsteady to squat to pee.
I do hope it's just the GA and not tthe analgesic and it wears off :(
Poor girl. Hope you both get some sleep

    Poor lass :( It's miserable.

Once she recovers she'll be totally fine though - and I hope she is feeling much better soon.

Charlie is a big power chewer - rawhide and kongs and kong goodie bones. Sometimes seahide (strips of dried cod skin). That's it.

Thanks everyone. She whined and paced for six hours solid poor lamb and looked completely out of it, didnt even seem to recognise my friend who came to see her, and she loves this friend. Even kept crying while she was eating some soft Chappie ( which she also loves!). Finally fell asleep, and gave me a wag and an ear lick a couple of hours ago and picked up steadily after. Sparko in her bed now phew. Its horrible to see them so unhappy isnt it...Jac she is on Tramadol and sounded very like Lilly, her back legs were going under her too. She seems ok on it now though. Fingers crossed...

Jen great news on the kong goodie bones, and passing the Scout Chomp Challenge , and Charlie has em too, have just ordered a couple for her and B for when she is better :)

Back to herself thanks :). What a turnaround, zonked out on bed after a tramadol at eleven, and didnt hear a peep all nite. Alarm went off this morning and she was up and off, tail wagging looking for her ball. Just had a lovely run up the hills in the wind and asleep again. Hooray! Now just have to think of non retrieving running games we can do on her walks for her to sprint about until she can get things back in her mouth again! Cuilli is a Dog Who Needs To Run! Did lots of long recall games today which they both enjoyed :)

Glad Cuillin is back to being happy and bouncy. Brilliant news. ;D

When Scout hurt his mouth playing rough with his brother and couldn't pick up a ball we played a lot of sit, wait, find me games. Good training for wait and recall as well as fun. ;D

Goodie bone still going strong after a major mauling this morning. Once he'd finished the sea jerky Scout carried on chewing the bone and still hardly any marks. ;D
