My sister's little rescue dog, Fred, passed away yesterday. He was a small hunting dog, rescued from a shelter in Cyprus two and a half years ago. He was quite an elderly chap, probably he was between 10 and 12 years old when the shelter took him in. He'd been shot and abandoned up in the hills, and some kind soul found him, and then with help from some members of this forum he was brought to the UK, where he had a very happy and comfortable last few years with my sister and her pack of dogs. Rest easy, little Fred, you were much loved.
I am so sorry to read this Karen , and yes, thank goodness Fred knew love and happiness in his later years , rest easy little love xxxxxx
Sleep easy, Fred. I'm so glad you were loved at the end. You deserved so much better in your younger days. x
Dear Fred, I am so pleased that in his last two years he found love and comfort but so sad when they go.

I remember him coming over, and it was through the same rescue that I fostered Spero and then Tristan. Please send her my heartfelt sympathies. I'm so glad that he got to live his last few years with love and care. RIP Fred xx
That's very sad - but how lovely that Fred found a good home with your sister so that he could enjoy his last two years.
Glad he got to enjoy life towards the end and experienced what it was like to be loved and be a happy dog. Just sorry it was not for longer
I'm sorry to hear this. I'm glad that your sister was able to give him a lovely retirement, and that he was able to know love and kindness in his senior years. My condolences to your sister.
I am so sorry, what a sweet lad Fred was, and so glad he found a warm, comfy sofa in his twilight years
