We're adamant too. We've simply failed to convince Holly of our determination.

This is our Izzy that is now over the Rainbow Bridge....but when we got Bella I asked hubby "are we gonna let this new pup take over the bed, or crate her" Needless to say....Bella's a bed hog in training...doing her best to live up to Izzy's fantastic example... ::)

Murphy mostly sleeps downstairs on the sofa. The first time he slept on the bed with us was when he had kennel cough but it hadnt been confirmed by the vet so we were freaking out and wanted him with us all night so we could keep an eye on him lol.
Now he sleeps on our bed probably once a week usually at the weekend, although since weve had Ezra hes been up with us a bit more because we feel bad that he is sad hes not getting all our attention. Lol

Luka stays downstairs where his bed is plus the sofa. His fear of open tread stairs keeps him from the bedroom. He likely will never know what a human bed is. Maybe not such a bad thing as it at least keeps the dog hair off one level of the house!

Molly has achieved this goal at the age of 14 months! When I first got her she slept in my bedroom but in her own bed, then at about 3 - 4 months of age I moved her downstairs and all was fine till the firework season.

She isn't at all scared of fireworks, thunder etc when outside but has taken to barking at every little noise at night. It's an alert bark as she stops as soon as I appear. I live on a housing estate so can't leave her to bark and so she's ended up back in the bedroom, where she doesn't bark at all. Trouble is she's grown out of her dog bed (has been sleeping on the sofa downstairs) so she's ended up on the bed!

I've just ordered a huge, 48 inch, dog bed, so I hope I can persuade her to sleep in that in my bedroom. Well see...

Poppy's not allowed to sleep on the bed. Ever.

OK, sometimes on Sunday mornings. Especially when she's just home after a week in kennels...

Only on Sunday? Poor Poppy. You raise her hopes on Sunday, then dash them for the rest of the week!

I think she should be allowed to sleep there every day. :) :) :)

Penny is never allowed on the bed ;-) and she's definitely never ever allowed to curl up under the duvet until I go to sleep until OH comes up to bed and takes her back downstairs

Bud has the freedom to choose it would seem. Since he has been introduced (not by me i hasten to add) to the big, snuggly bed, he opts for this more often than not. However, in his defence, he does resort to settling down in his own main bed in the corner of our bedroom, at times when it suits him. He doesn't go through the night in his bed though.....i am sure this will change next year :) (Bud i think makes mention of this in his diary as he has heard a few whispers between his mummy and I.) ;D
