Now, I am NOT complaining about this at all but my going-on 7 month pup has recently started sleeping a lot more than usual. Whereas I used to have to spend a long time settling her during the day, now she just sleeps and I have to actually wake her up for food. I mentioned it to the vet at the weekend (as she hs been sick a few times recently) but he said she's perfectly healthy. Is this just her finally growing up? I was expecting teenage chaos at this age (she was certainly a real handful until about a month ago). Or could something be wrong? When she is out for walks she's bouncy and runs about a lot, tail high. Despite her sleeping lots, she still has us up between 5 and 6 am every day (even if we add in evening walks or lots of play). Could something be wrong or should I be thankful for a chilled out pup?
I smiled as I read this, because my Sam was just the same I was convinced that he must have some dreadful illness , I also took him to our Vet who declared him to be fit as a fiddle Sam is now almost five years old , and still a couch potato, unless he is out and about of course when he is full of stamina , be thankful
She sounds just fine to me Twiglet is nine months old, she sleeps a lot too when not out and about if my other dog isn't home. All bets are off when there are two of them, of course! She always sleeps deepest just before meals (conserving energy?) .
I can't tell you what a relief this is first dogs- they really do kill you with worry don't they. Thank you, I'll start enjoying the peace rather than worrying about it then.
