So pleased the op went well. I have everything crossed that he has a speedy uncomplicated recovery. Thinking of you. x
Thank you. Yh it's so horrid when they are so little , and you can't do anything. I did say to the vet if she tells me he has bite one of them overnight I will really know he is back to himself . It's the biggest wave of relief I have felt in a long time .
Thank you. Yh that's what I am hoping for though I am trying to keep myself prepared for a few hiccups .
Sorry to hear about Aramis. It's great that he's come through the op ok and no resection was needed. I'm sure you'll want him home soon too, but it's good that he's being kept in for now so that the vet can monitor him and manage any discomfort. Well done for taking such prompt action. These dogs are just as worrying, if not more so, than children!
Sending you big hugs, so glad the operation went well. Fingers and paws crossed he continues to improve. Xx
I honestly don't know, once the op was over, I tended not to see the dogs again. However, if the operation is successful, I can see no reason why there should be any further problems. I was always surprised that when the bowel was put back into the dog, it all sorted itself out. Added later, just seen your post above that op done and no resection needed, that is good news.
Deffo worse than children I think. Aramis we've found with all his issues doesn't seem to show he's not very well in any obvious ways until the big stuff happens . It is more the little things, and before he started vomiting and diarrhoea I did think am I imagining him being so quiet, and being alone I was constantly second guessing. Thank you both x
Thanks for the reply . She's warned me of the risk it quite possibly could happen again, but I know he had the better of the two outcomes so hopefully we will be like one that you have seen, and he will carry on with no more issues. I am seeing my vets far too often for my liking . Sadly he was meant to be getting his second jabs tomorrow so we will now have to start that process again, but as long as he's healthy I don't mind.
Certainly a celebration is in order!!! Thank goodness Aramis got through this and YOU saved his life! Good for you! Hope you had a huge glass of wine.... Great news....
What an ordeal for you. I'm guessing the vet will help you work out a diet for him if it's IBS-related. Poor little thing. Lucky you caught it so quickly. You really are in tune with him.
That's wonderful news. So glad he's doing ok and you're able to take a breather. I haven't known any dogs that this has happened to but if it helps I do know a horse who has had the same thing - a loop of his intestines kind of flipped over another loop, leading to a constriction, and he had to have a bowel resection. He's an absolutely massive horse too, almost 18 hands, so it was all very tricky. But he now is 100% fine and is ridden almost every day. Hope you manage to get some sleep tonight. Thinking of you and Aramis.
Good to hear that the op went well. Everything crossed for a speedy recovery. Bet you can't wait to get him home
Only just reading this. Sorry to hear about little Aramis. Excellent news that the op went well. I am sure a speady recovery will be next. Like I always say Ice cream will help once he feels better and can take food in proportions.
Thank you all. I had a very early night which was much needed. Vet called about an hour ago, he had a rough night with diarrhoea but they are hopeful that was just what was left behind and from the drugs etc. He was making a lot of noise for his breakfast this morning , and she says as long as he stays like this we can grab him about 6ish , so fingers crossed . I will let you know more then, and sneak you a pic of him in his little body suit? he will be stuck him to keep him off his wound. Again thank you all for your kind wishes X
Thinking of you and your little love this morning , take care of yourself , and massive get well wishes for Aramis xx
