We went to my mums house on Sunday as we haven't managed to see them due to step dad being in hospital then my mum being poorly. My step dad has been diagnosed with high blood pressure and a heart condition. I was a bit hesitant taking Harley up due to this. Well, I shouldn't of worried After her initial 2 mins running around saying hi to everyone, she calmed down and sat by my step dads feet and followed him everywhere. At tea time she had her food then settled on her blanket whilst we finished ours. After tea she opened her present from my mum and step dad, had a few treats then led on her blanket and fell asleep . My mum commented on how well behaved she is now and said she is happy to take Harley up there anytime . For those of you who don't know, my mum is really scared of dogs, didn't meet Harley until she was 1 year old and wouldn't touch her for ages. Harley now sits when asked by my mum and gives my mum her paw . I'm so proud of my girl

What lovely news Ternaya. Harley is such a good girl, it was only a matter of time before she won your mum over and so attentive with your step-dad. Think she deserves extra cuddles and treats for being so good.

Dogs are really good for people with high bp and heart problems stroking and being around lowers bp and relaxes the sufferer..
My mum was the same, but when she saw how the dogs were with my very ill father and how they were with her she slowly gained confidence. The strangest thing was she developed some sort of magic hold on the dogs. The would follow her around like little lambs and obey everything she asked them to do. I shown her the commands I used and she just told the dogs what to do. It never occured to her that they wouldn't do what she told them and was very confindant so they just did everything she said, it was so funny. When we visit we take the dogs and she is always pleased to see them and if we visit someone else she always asks us to leave doug with her as she really likes him. Being 75 herself she can appprieciate and older gentleman(dougs 14) and they spend the day together. I suspect she sneaks him treats too.
Also the dogs proved to be a real help when my father was very ill they were so kind and loving towards him ans so careful not to hurt him.
Harley sounds like an absolute star, a sensitive kind girl who clearly loves people, you must be so proud
