Today Mabel and I performed our assessment for the KC silver award. We passed with flying colours. It was an unseasonably hot day and the training club we attend was bathed in bright sunshine and no breeze. It was very very hot with hardly any shade. Her heal work which is often questionable was very good, much to my relief. We celebrated by curling up on the sofa, Mabel with a frozen Kong and me with a coffee watching Homeland while the boys watched Cov City on TV, win at Wembley. All in all a splendid Sunday.
I think it can be particularly tough for Labradors, she has always found controlled greeting a challenge, this was a second attempt last time she sailed through until the last task which happened to be the two minutes stay. Half way through she spotted a feather and although she didn't get up she wriggled her body round in a circle and stretched out to investigate. It was actually really funny.
Hehe! Ella sometimes catches the smell of something when she's in a down-stay. She'll stay down but shuffle towards the smell
