Ugh! That's really rotten, how your vet is being. Glad you've found another for Mighty Moo, who will give her the care she needs.
She's just had some more meds and she's stopped being sick. Shes fast asleep by the fire in her big cosy bed.
I've just told a friend what happened and what was said she's really mad at them and said they treated us badly so I know its not me being over sensitive because she's so ill
That's no good... I hope Moo can be rid of the offending tooth soon. Poor lass. Did they say why it was too tricky for them to do the op?
You must be spitting feathers to be accused of lying, how dare they! The usual treatment my vet does and any vet I have known before, usually give antibiotics at the first sign of the abscess and then a few days later, removes the troublesome tooth. However, I was concerned that Moo's swelling seemed to increase not go down which is what normally happens.
Sorry to hear your visit to the vet wasn't as you'd expected, but it's good that you've now got a better option for Tuesday. I hope the swelling subsides over the weekend and Moo's more comfortable. At least she's in good hands with you.
Well it's not really gone down yet, thats why I was so worried today and why i thought it reasonable for her to be seen by a vet again. I've been shown the site by the vet yesterday and the vet today there's is improvement around the tooth. The vet yesterday said take it out and so did the one today. I'll see what happens on Tuesday with the new vet I'm not inclined to go back to the same vet again the whole thing was strange. Ive used the same vet for 15 years and have not had anything like this happen before.I think I'll just see how I feel. its all turning into a bit of a saga really. Last time this happened the tooth was taken out job done. I just left thinking wtf happened there and what to happened to quality of care for moo. I think I'm just going to move on and stuff them there's obviously something going on there I don't know about
That's the attitude - even if you've been with a vet for a long time you just have to go with what's best for your dog. I dumped a vet I'd been with for 15 years when her treatment of my old dog was no longer what I wished for, and have never regretted it...
Yep I going to start asking around with friends There's some ones close I can use but one I know I definately won't be using. So I'll do some research get Moo over this he face seems to have gone down a bit today
Hope you get a decent vet and Moo gets her abscess sorted. You need to have confidence in the vet that's treating her.
Transport us all booked and she's been a bit better today. She's obviously in pain but has managed to eat normally today . She's not been sick but her face is still very swollen. She's very bull terrier faced now. She's had lots of cuddles nice soft treats and rest today
Bit worried a lot worried but we just have to get on with it. Its got to be done it can't be left so we just go forward carefully. She's healthy resilient and tough so I just have to hope for the best. Whatever the outcome i will do whats right by her like we all would. We love our doggies even when it gets hard
Just catching up now. So sorry to hear about poor Moo being so unwell. You must be exhausted from worry SwampDonkey. And poo to the vets for being hissy prats. Thinking about you all, and keeping everything crossed for Tuesday.
Well she's a lot better today and the swellings finally gone down a bit. we're ready for the op tomorrow now so she's had a bit of a brush and a lot of cuddles. She's been standing in the big armchair and barking out if the window. Nothing like a bloody good bark to make you feel good
So gad you've managed to get her in for tomorrow. I hope all goes well. Poor girl. Sounds like the vets are pants tbh and that's putting it politely!
