I agree its a total no brainer Tina. Doing traing for safety is great and fun too my dogs always do such lovely sits when are about to go through the big gate for their big walk. they look so happy and so beautiful. shiney dogs. So proud of themselves Dexter sounds like he does respect you he's obvoiusly listening and learning from you. Some not all little dogs don't get the training us with larger dogs have to do as often the just pick them up or drag them away from trouble. None dog owners are often worried about big dogs like labs but I always laugh and say its the small ones you have to watch out for. If people confront you just stay calm and logical if you can if not just walk away you know Dexters only a pup and you will teach him to deal with this it just takes time for his confidence to grow. your pup will be ignoring this stuff in no time and they will always be stuck with the dog from hell. I find it hard to see dogs been treated badly and have had to learn to keep my mouth shut, but even now i do find in particularly bad circunmstances I have to act. I seen some terrible things it just makes me really sad and angry.
