Re: Spay tomorrow That is really a bit off I think to have Maisie to wait such a long time. On the plus side she will almost certainly sleep the night away without being disturbed and feel so much better by the morning.
Re: Spay tomorrow I agree Stacia, I'm not best pleased it has to be said. I have a fear that the practice is so popular that they have too many patients and can't cope with all the unexpected animals that day. The vet is highly thought of where I live and people come from miles away to see her.
Re: Spay tomorrow I guess emergency cases have to have priority though, and it's what we'd want if we were the one with the emergency I'm sure Maisie will be fine and will be glad to see you as well
Re: Spay tomorrow Ugh, poor you! (And poor hungry Maisie!) We'll be thinking of you. All best wishes to both of you. X
Re: Spay tomorrow No Stacia, she has two other vets. Although it is very busy, they are very friendly, give you lots time and seem to genuinely care for their patients. The receptionist is a bit scary though!! lol! ;D
Re: Spay tomorrow The receptionists at my vets are quite rude and abrupt I find, but it is a highly thought of practice with some good vets so I'm willing to let that slide lol
Re: Spay tomorrow Oh no ;( I hope she is able to come home early tomorrow x My vets are lovely, but also very busy! When Harley had to have emergency surgery last week I did feel a tiny bit guilty as I knew a few dogs had to be put back on the surgery list, but I am also thankful as it saved Harley
Re: Spay tomorrow Oh what a shame for you both! I guess Maisie will be a bit out of it and probably won't mind as much as you will. Hoping she gets home in the morning and you have a peaceful recuperation.
Re: Spay tomorrow Hope that the patient spent a sleepy night and that all goes well when you pick her up this morning , bless her
Re: Spay tomorrow Maisie is home after a peaceful night at the vets. She looks very sorry for herself, making lots of grunting, moaning and whining noises. Poor girl. The operation site is amazing, only very small incisions. I'll take a photo when I can; she is currently crashed out of the lounge floor. Her baby canine was also removed at the same time...it had a really long root so would never have come out by itself. When we got home the sun was shining and Maisie fell asleep outside. I took the opportunity to have a coffee and when I returned she wasn't there. After a search of the garden and downstairs and I found her fast asleep on my bed upstairs! So much for no jumping or going upstairs :. Apparently she was very lively at the vets - described as "doing somersaults" when anyone approached her kennel!! Thanks for all your kind wishes.
Re: Spay tomorrow Glad she's home, rest up little one you've got mayhem to creat when you're feeling better ;D
Re: Spay tomorrow Really glad to hear that all went well , the tooth too , now the fun starts with trying to keep her calm
Re: Spay tomorrow I bet you're glad to have her home! She was obviously just looking for a nice comfy bed to sleep in
Re: Spay tomorrow
She was obviously just looking for a nice comfy bed to sleep in
Little madam! Do you think it's normal for her to be making whining grunting noises all day? She seems happy, lots of tail wagging and has eaten a couple of small meals. She's doing lots of pacing about. I can only assume that it's the GA?
