We now have a spiral staircase to our basement. Our female went up without much hesitation but our male won't get his rear legs off the basement floor, even with bacon. Any ideas?

    Hi Randall,
We have spiral stair cases up to our flat and Luna has started walking up/down full time now she is 6 months.
To start with she was hesitant because she didn't know how/what to do but now she is quite happy.

Does he have a toy he likes or blanket he uses for comfort? Luna's thing is having the lead in her mouth and won't go down without it!
Maybe you could try putting treats on each step and then give him space to explore them himself?

Often it's because there are holes in the stairs and/or there is a gap between steps - it all looks not very solid to the dog. You could try throwing a blanket over the stairs, so the dog steps on the blanket to go up and down at first...
