Re: Splash! Poppy is a lot like Dexter - at first she was very cautious about her paddling pool (20 euros, thought that was expensive at the time, 89 pounds my word!!!) - but now she loves it. But she still won't lie down in it - splashes around and pushes her head under, though, Continuing very hot here in Germany - will be 35 degrees again until after the weekend - so garden hose and paddling pool in full use!

Police are three weeks into a murder investigation into the death of Winton mum-of-two Linzi Ashton. The police helicopter was dispatched to the Hindley area at 6.10pm after an apparent sighting of the suspected murderer. Armed police surrounded the disused job centre on the A58 Liverpool Road. The building is often used as shelter for the homeless. Police dogs, motorcycles and armed police swarmed around the old job centre where Michael Cope was apparently spotted. Cope, 28, is thought to be sleeping rough in the area and has been on the run from police since his ex-girlfriend Linzi was found battered to death at her home on Saturday 29 June. A post-mortem examination found Ms Ashton died of strangulation as well as multiple injuries. Officers also gathered around the A58 Liverpool Road near Blackberry Drive. To the rear of this housing estate is a large expanse of fields and woodland which runs along the Borsdane Brook. Borsdane Woods, also nearby, has been reported as a potential place where the wanted man could be sleeping rough. At around 10.55pm on 23 July 2013 local residents started to report on Twitter of hearing a gunshot. @chriswain609 There's meant be a murderer in hindley less than a mile from my house and I'm sure I just heard a gun shot @JayThomasWAFC Hindley is freakishly quiet tonight. And just Heard a big bang about a minute ago @princey_prince Have I really just heard a gun shot. Get #michaelcope caught ASAP. @ConnorBaines26 S*** is defiantly going down in Hindley, just heard a gun shot! Greater Manchester Police said this morning that there was no update in the search, no arrests had been made, no gunshots reported either by police or by offenders and Michael Cope had not been found. The police helicopter has been searching the area over Borsdane Woods in Hindley and the area around Leyland Park since Sunday 21 July. A £25,000 reward is on still offer for information leading to the arrest of the suspect. In recent weeks police have been concentrating the search on the Hindley and Westhoughton areas to the west of Salford. On Thursday 11 July armed police raided an abandoned house on Leigh Road, Worsley as the manhunt continued. Then on Friday 12 July armed police surrounded White's reclamation yard on New Hall Avenue in Peel Green, Eccles after a suspected sighting of the wanted murder suspect. Det Ch Supt Shenton added: "I would also ask that people in this area remain vigilant; we believe Cope is familiar with the canal pathways between Salford and Leigh and may have spent time near the canal and waterways in Hindley. Police believe Cope, 28, may have been sleeping rough and are urging people to report any suspicious behaviour around outbuildings, sheds or gardens, as well as disused railway lines and open land. Detectives stated that Cope may be armed and is certainly dangerous. Chief Superintendent Kevin Mulligan told assembled reporters in a press conference in Boothstown that Cope may have access to a firearm. "We understand these developments may alarm people in Wigan, but I would like to reassure them that we have a dedicated team of detectives, and specialist search officers, whose sole objective is to find Cope safely. “Our appeal to the public is to be vigilant, and to let us know if they have seen the man pictured. The pair had what police described as an "acrimonious" relationship lasting a matter of months. The pair had an acrimonious relationship lasting a matter of months and Cope was being sought for questioning over at least two serious assaults on Ms Ashton at the time of her murder. The last confirmed sighting of the suspected murderer was this CCTV video released by police of a shop on Atherton Road, Hindley on 19 July 2013. At 11.37pm the police helicopter was again dispatched to the Hindley area as officers combed the woodland and fields around the area. Locals also reported sightings of Cope around the former Strangeways pub on Liverpool Road, later called The Paddock Hotel. Police were apparently parked up in Range Rovers while officers on foot searched the fields behind Leyland Park. Two men have been charged with assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice. 25-year old Craig Blackburn of Ivy Street, Patricroft and 26-year old David Sargeson of Sarah Street, Eccles are suspected of preventing police
