Virtually every morning for the past 2 weeks Harley has vomitted within half hour of eating her breakfast. 9/10 she just leaves it and doesn't try to eat it. She has the same food in the evening (she is on Natures Menu frozen food which I check is properly defrosted and kept in the fridge, it's in date too) and is fine. She's not been as playful or energetic as usual. We are off to the vets later today but wondered if anyone had any thoughts?

Wild guess from me but wonder if it could be hunger pukes? I have never dealt with that but in my readings, on chat forums, it happens before they eat and it's mostly a bit of liquid. Most often a small meal or snack at bedtime is the solution. IN Harley's case I guess it would be some kind of delayed reaction? LOts of guesses but a small snack at bedtime taken from the amount she usually gets for breakfast would be easy to try. Doesn't sound like it's the food itself if she's ok on the same food at her supper. Good luck at the Vet's.

Haven't experienced it myself ....could be as Snowshoe says though...empty tummy with a lot of juices built up over night assaults her tummy a bit when she has her breakfast?does she go a long time between last food at night and brekkie? I know Harley is one of the dogs who is happy to have a lie in.....mind you, that wouldn't explain the change in only the last 2 weeks...hope she's ok Ternaya x

    Stools are normal.
She has her evening meal at 7pm and a snack around 10pm. Apart from Sunday when she slept in, she has been up around 7am for breakfast (she always goes back to sleep after this). She's usually sick about 15-30 mins later! It's just really strange as nothing has changed in terms of food, meal times, treats of snacks.
We are off to the vets now so will hopefully get some answers

    Lol :D

Back from the vets who have done bloods. Results will be back tomorrow. We have to give her cooked chicken in the morning for breakfast to see if she's sick after eating that.

Wondering whether Harley has some sort of gastric irritation/inflammation?

That's what the vet said, plus he is also concerned it may be a stomach ulcer ☹️

Oh Harley, fingers crossed for you my darling! Pongo sends his very best licks and has gone out to look for your ball again to cheer you up. (Still not found it.)

Still waiting on results! Harley was sick again after having steamed chicken for breakfast. I'm home poorly too as nearly passed out at work :(

This sounds exactly what Charlie had - we switched him to a new protein and carbohydrate source that he'd never had before. I used Royal Canin's SC21, duck and tapioca. This sorted it. Then, over time we figured out it was commercially produced chicken, even though he had been fed chicken based food since a puppy, he developed some kind of intolerance to it over time.

You might just try feeding SC21 for a couple of meals. You can switch to it immediately and you can buy small bags or even just a couple of tins. If this sorts it, you have a big clue the problem is food based (even if you think it's unlikely, it's even worth ruling that out).

Oh dear, do hope you are both feeling better soon.

    Has Harley been wormed recently?
