    Hello again

I've seen many pup's stretched out on there belly with their back legs fully extended behing them. My 12 week old pup does the same now. Can anyone tell me if this has any adverse effects on the young growing bones/joints.

Old age bringing on erstwhile unthought of worries no doubt!

    Re: stretched legs

Hi there, I have not seen any evidence to suggest that this common behaviour is harmful, or even indicative of problems. There is no point worrying about it anyway because there is nothing you can do to prevent it. ;) Lots of my pups have done it.

    Thanks Pippa

Of course you're right nothing can be done - just curious to know if there were any known issues.

    :)

Ah a sign of youth and flexibility! I'd be worried if a dog couldn't stretch it's legs behind it as that would indicate lack of proper range in the hip.

Yup - got another streacher here, especially when I've invited her up on the sofa and she's decided she wants all of it. :D
