sunburnt dog nose!?!

    I swear tillys nose is sunburnt! it sort of flaked off and was dry what do i do???

    Hi Lauren, I have no idea, sorry but I've been pondering about do dogs need sunscreen on their noses since the hot weather started.

    Yes, dogs can get sunburnt noses.

    Poor girl! Keep her out of the sun till it's healed up. Then you can use sunscreen on it - human ones are fine - though they do tend to just lick it off...

    If she's prone to sunburn don't let her lie in the sun, especially during the middle hours of the day. If you notice any new spots, bumps or pigmentation on her nose see the vet about it.

    Watch her tummy, too, as the thinner hair makes it more prone to sunburn there if she lies outside.

    And that this lab allows it to stay on... It is good that he/she didn't watch Hannibal lecter....
    Keep it soft by putting some calendula on or coconut oil. In the evening of course and just before night time walk. Gives the cream or oil a chance to stay on for a bit without being licked off directly

    Hannilab Dexter....if I get the lad one to keep him safe? :rofl:
    I used to put sunscreen on Dexter's nose ,I got a pack of what looked like baby wipes and used to sweep one over,he just used to lick it off though so I gave up!
