Does anyone else have a dog with a sweet tooth. Most of the time when I cook Molly sits by my feet waiting for goodies. When I bake she swarms all over me and the worktop. I noticed it at Christmas and again today las I am baking for Mothers Day. Right now she is sat by the stargate whimpering. I've put a chocolate cake on the landing window ledge to cool down and she is clearly waiting for her share
Re: Sweet toothed Labrador No human food for either of mine - just kibble and dried sprats with the occasional tripe stick (cruel mummy)
Re: Sweet toothed Labrador I'm sure Dexter would have a sweet tooth if allowed....oh hang on sorry ,he's just all round greedy! X
Re: Sweet toothed Labrador Being a diabetic, I rarely have anything sweet in the house, but am sure if I did , the two musketeers would be quite willing to take a taste test
Re: Sweet toothed Labrador Don't want to be a spoil sport, but be careful with regular sweet stuff unless you have a daily tooth brushing regime. Dogs don't usually get tooth decay...unless they regularly have sweet treats (sweet biscuits, jam on toast, sweet tea, lollies). Occasional things won't hurt though I'm sure that's what you're talking about
Re: Sweet toothed Labrador Don't worry girls. I am not feeding my dog a diet of cakes etc. Quite the reverse. I am a vege, so what she usually 'scores' when I'm cooking is raw vegetables and the occasional bit of cheese. It is such a pronounced reaction, from laying quietly at my feet when I'm prepping food, to literally clambering all over me and even attempting to lick the work surface when I used sugar. That I wondered if other Labs were the same. I was amazed that something she encountered so rarely should have such a profound reaction.
Re: Sweet toothed Labrador oh yea... pizza crust ! if i'm eating and make eye contact with Bert, he drools something fierce !
Re: Sweet toothed Labrador It's not something that I've noticed. My two are always there looking at me when I'm in the kitchen, but sweet stuff doesn't get them any more animated than chopping veggies. When I'm portioning up chickens and rabbits for their lunches, or cutting up beef for the ferrets, however, they get really animated and find it impossible to sit still. My little carnivores ;D
