When I'm going for a walk, I want to teach Pearl (my 8 mth old puppy) to walk close by me on a loose but SHORT lead. But this is the question - after getting her to sit, I want to allow her to wonder with a long lead to sniff....BUT not pull or tighten the lead but can go ahead and at the length of the lead. Then when I'm ready to bring her back to a walk next to me I can. So what are some ideas to help her learn that in a sniff time...its more freedom but it's still NOT a pulling time? Thanks in advance...:)
