Tear staines

    Having problems with eye tear stains on my yellow lab.. any ideas? clean her eyes 2 to 3 times a day but, still eye stains.

    Hello there and a warm welcome to the forum. Do pop over to introductions and tell us a bit more about you and your dog. :)

    I think you should have a vet check out your dog's eyes - I always think excessive tear production in dogs needs investigating, and I really don't like to see stained fur. There is a reason why your dog is producing tears or discharge sufficient quantity to stain fur, and it's the underlying cause that should be looked at by a vet, in my view, not the stains.

    Hi and welcome to the forum :)

    The problem might not be tear production but tear drainage. Normally, the tear ducts drain tears/eye fluid into the nose. If the tear ducts are blocked the tears instead drain onto the face. Basically, they shouldn't be running down the face in the first place. So, I agree, have a chat with the vet about the underlying problem. I hope you can get to the bottom of it.
