I've mentioned previously that Ella's recall needs some work and I've lost a bit of confidence so ensure that her off lead time is quite controlled and I avoid situations where she can run off to people/dogs and self reward.

Today we were having a play with the ball in the park after a bit of training and I was caught off guard. A runner managed to sneak up on us without me noticing so I hadn't been able to recall Ella and pop her lead on before he got too close. As soon as she spotted him she dropped the ball and started running towards him. I immediately called her (whilst preparing myself for a run/waddle to go and get her) and she actually stopped, turned and looked at me!!! I called her back to me (dancing around like a complete loony and waving my arms around to make myself as exciting as possible) and, after looking back and forth between me and the runner (who at this point was looking at me like I was a crazy person) she came back!!!

Needless to say she was given nearly every treat in my treat bag ☺

Give me another week or two and I might start jumping up and down at every given opportunity!
