Second post in one day! Otis (15 weeks) has been a chewer since we got him....chewing everything. Recently we saw an improvement, but now we've noticed in the last few days that he realllllly seems like he just doesn't know what to do with himself and has to chew EVERYTHING and anything. We're doing ice cubes which he loves, but we can only do so many or else he would be peeing every 5 minutes! He has lots and lots of toys and chews but nothing can quite keep his interest like my kitchen table. My husband swears he can see some teeth coming through in the back. Is this a common teething age? Anyway, looking for any suggestions that provided their pups (and owners) with some relief!
Teething with some pups can be a trying time. Have you tried wetting a tea towel then freezing it and letting him chew on it? You could try spraying a bitter Apple spray from a pet shop on your table and other things you don't want him chewing on. Just beware that some dogs like the taste, but most don't. Good luck
I was lucky with Juno as she wasn't a chewer and didn't have to many problems teething - the worst part was as she crunched down on a tooth in her mouth when it had come out. She was always happy to swap for a treat though. I seemed to find teeth all over the kitchen and living room. One toy that she liked and used a lot when teething was the Kong Teether http://www.amazon.co.uk/462/dp/B000...id=1445080714&sr=8-5&keywords=kong+puppy+toys
I have it on good authority (mine ) that a Golden Retriever puppy friend provides not only admirable distraction but also a marvelous teething toy in and of himself. Not sure how the GR puppy owner felt after needing to give her pup quite a bath but the GR puppy seemed to think nothing of being covered in blood.
Willow like frozen carrots. They didn't have too much problem, really. Frozen kongs were also appreciated - but, then, they always are
Twiglet (20 weeks) is teething like mad at the moment. Her favourite thing to chew on is rope, especially the smooth rope you get on some toys. Her absolute favourite is a nerf one. Here is a link, but they are only £3.99 in B&M http://tinyurl.com/oprsm83 Here she is with it, she carries it everywhere with her to chew.
