Can't find out how to start a new post, so having a go here! Just to say I have managed to get on the forum, thank you Pippa for resetting a password for me, much appreciated,

 

Completely confused When I reply to a thread I can only use the comment box, is that correct but then it's not set out like other members replies?

How do you use the smiley faces etc. When I click on the one I want it doesn't insert into my text?

Those ads are highly annoying as they are so large

I am a complete techno phobe so please keep with me and I don't like change

OK, I have just managed to do the smiley face thingy, won't my children be proud yeah!!!!!!

 

and I have just figured out where to start typing - sorry this only my second visit!!! xx

I haven't cracked the avatar bit yet, either! I'm very jealous of your smilies Helen, I haven't got those on my iPad.

 

smilies are to the top right of the box you reply in. Greyout smiley face.

 

heidrun - you mentioned you use Photobucket. There is a really simple editor tool (it must be simple, I managed it!) built in. Next to where there is a tab for your library.Top left-ish.

Open a pic in that. Then select Crop button and choose the square option. Then the Resize option and resize your square to 100 and bish-bash-bosh you are done.

except save it to your pc and then add it (by clicking your default avatar pic). I couldn't get it to add directly from photobucket.

 

Thanks James, I have a look at resizing in photobucket. I have got smilies on my laptop but not on my iPad.

 

No smilies on the forum if using an iPad but the iPad smilies work. No idea what the animal ones are for just wanted to use them. My original iPad doesn't have smilies built in. I wonder if there's a way of getting the forum smilies for tablets that don't have them ?
