Re: The appointment is made..... You will just not sleep tonight in "strange" surroundings. Great news!
Re: The appointment is made..... At last!!! I reckon you should be cracking open a bottle of something bubbly Sleep well!!! And GOODBYE CONE.
Re: The appointment is made..... Dexter, I have just heard that my Lab's sister (she is a yellow Lab) had to have her tail amputated!
Re: The appointment is made..... Oh Stacia....I'm sorry to hear that.....don't let her read my posts!Im sure and I hope her recovery will be straightforward...ours was hampered by the fact that we did it in 2 stages....rather than just taking the full amount off first time...and secondly Dexter was agile enough to reach his wounds even with the biggest ecollar on. Was it 'Happy Tail Syndrome' or has her dog had an accident? Please convey my wishes to your sister for a quick and thorough recovery.... If there is anything I can help with don't hesitate to ask x
Re: The appointment is made..... It was my Lab's sister, not mine But very kind and thoughtful of you to be so empathetic and helpful. My Lab (20 months) has a very long tail and I imagine his sister did as well, last time I saw her she was about 10 months and it didn't seem to show with my Lab until he was over 12 months. I was speaking to the breeder yesterday and she told me about Dolly's tail having to be amputated, I should imagine it is due to 'happy tail' as both my Labs, Drift and Rourke do splatter the house occasionally and most days there is evidence of some blood. Drift has got to nearly 8 years old, so I guess he will be OK but I do wonder about Rourke, he was paying attention to the tip yesterday. If we do have to have the op. I will certainly be in touch for helpful hints, but I hope we don't!
Re: The appointment is made..... Oh I'm a dope aren't I! I really hope you don't either, although if you do it won't be as bad as we were( although I know you have had grim tail experiences previously ) keeping my fingers crossed for you xxx
Re: The appointment is made..... Have now heard that Dolly's tail amputation was due to "happy tail" and only a small part had to be removed and all is well apparently.
Re: The appointment is made..... 'Happy Tail' is the most misleading name for a syndrome ever!im so glad she didn't lose a lot though...thanks for letting me know ,things will be a lot more happy for Dolly and her family now x
