We live very near a pebble beach which has lots of flotsam and jetsam washed up onto it. It makes great toys! Today we found an empty plastic gallon container with a handle and some old rope. Tied container to rope and Molly had a whale of a time chasing it. Earlier in the week we found a very long length of thick rubber-covered elastic - great for a tuggy game. Also a small (12inch) tyre to be thrown and retrieved. In the summer there was lots of rubbish left by people - food and wrappers - which infuriated me, but the winter things washed up by the sea are turning out to be a good source of free toys! (Except the dead seagulls of course...)
Re: The best toys are rubbish I so agree, our two usually find new " toys " on the beach too , like the odd flip flop , they are always popular
Re: The best toys are rubbish These empty milk cartons are just fabulous fun with a bit of wind behind them. Not so much fun when they still have some rancid milk in them though
Re: The best toys are rubbish I agree. One of Vespa's favourites is a yellow, heavy-duty welly thy washed up on the beach at Durness. She loves it and I have a hilarious video of her playing with it/sticking her head in it/killing it.
Re: The best toys are rubbish ;D One of Charlie's favourite toys to play tug with Hattie is an old scarf of mine, I knotted it and they play a lot with it. It would have ended up in the bin so recycling too x
