Yep, we love dogs at Cheddar Caves in Cheddar (would you believe) in Somerset, and they are welcome everywhere, even in the caves (as long as they (their owners) don't leave any little calling cards)! ;D

He He - it means drenched, or soaked.

I think I have been to the Cheddar Gorge many years ago as a child but not in recent years at all - just interested :D

I haven't. I was going to, once, but then did something else instead. Is it good?

Look, I am keen on hearing the sales pitch too. So, why should she come from drookit Bonnie and why should I come from sunny Oz to see your caves, albeit caves made of cheese?

If you can weave Somerset cider somewhere into your marketing strategy that will boost the success of your campaign. ;)

Julie, if you have seen the Grand Canyon then the Chedder Gorge will seem petite. But it is a nice gorge. I think it might be more about the caves though. And the cheese. And hopefully the cider.

Hmm....been to the Grand Canyon, but more Hot Chocolate than cider that day.
Which was a shame as I was in short trousers and a jumper and wasn't warned it would be approaching freezing at sunrise in October - suppose that's tourists for you ::) ::)

Ooo...I like cheese. We buy a whole, proper cheddar at Christmas from Borough market. I turn it into soup and freeze it come Feb. lovely. :) :) :)

What can I say - amongst the largest caves in the country, Gough's cave is 1/2Km deep, home of the Cheddar Man (skeleton) and pretty spectacular flowstone formations. You get an audio guided tour. New museum where in the summer you'll meet me (or colleague) demonstrating stone-age survival skills - flint tool and weapon making, fire lighting and the like. Cox's cave small but full of stalactites and stalactites. The wonderful Cheddar Gorge, Britain's highest inland cliffs and of course the original Cheddar Cheese Company. What more could you want!

Sounds excellent :) That's enough for me. I am very interested in all that kind of thing - demonstrations of neolithic life and re-created dwellings based on archaeological finds etc.

    Also cheese.
