Re: The frustrations of filming Oh Pippa.......what a palaver you have had ! Makes for an amusing story though ;D I had similar problems when trying to produce a DVD for work and thet was simple compared to you. I hope you enjoyed the wine Jac
Re: The frustrations of filming Sorry, but I did have to giggle at this Pippa , am with you all the way I sometimes have to ask my 18 year old grandson for advice , always met with that " sigh " and the " are you sure you`re up to this Nan " which makes me instantly regret asking him in the first place, he obviously looks at me and thinks " Over the hill and beyond all help " whereas the reality is that Im quite determined not to be beaten by technology He seems to fix things within minutes, but then he is studying IT at college , a massive advantage : Glass of wine always takes the pain away , enjoy the Mac
Re: The frustrations of filming Oh dear, I feel your pain, but it IS -a funny story!! PS I love the MacBook... Despite my original resistance.
Re: The frustrations of filming This is such a typical story of how COMPLICATED things can get on a PC!! Honestly, I don't know why people put up with it! Yes, the Mac is more expensive, but I can honestly say that in the almost 30 years that we have owned one type of Mac or another we've only had to take one into the shop for repairs once...for a faulty screen covered by extended warranty. Never bought virus protection either. You will LOVE your MacBook!!!!
Re: The frustrations of filming I feel your pain. I can't even make the sound come out of the television. We are 'Mac everything' at home. I hope you love your new MacBook
Re: The frustrations of filming Oh what a palaver, Pippa! I have got absolutely no computer skills whatsoever nor the patience to read long instruction manuals. I swapped from Microsoft to Apple a few years ago and never looked back. For my little video clips I just grab my iPad and a dog and off we go. But the iPad is a real hinderance when I haven't got a cameraman so I am seriously considering getting a little camera to wear around my head. I tried one out a few weeks ago when a few clumber spaniel enthusiast got together and with the help of a pro photographer we made a promotional video on working Clumbers. The camera looks like one of those head torches and I quickly forgot the I was wearing it. The picture quality is superb. Really looking forward to your video.
Re: The frustrations of filming I love my ipad but the locked down nature of Apple drives me nuts. Even something simple like no flash video is irritating. I guess for my work though I install a reasonable amount of software compared to most people and I also transfer docs, presentations etc from machine to machine and the pc handles that much better with less formatting issues.
