    It's a really good point!! Some digs like stuff that skitters along the ground and some like high fast throws. Riley is much more keen on a throw from an assistant.

    So many variables.....such picky dogs ;) ::)

    Helen, I can relate. Simba quite enjoys fetch in the garden, but when we are on a walk he's really not that interested. Okay,basically not interested. It is frustrating, for sure!

    I find it enormously frustrating after almost three years of trying to whip up retrieving enthusiasm and 4 months of clicker training the retrieve, I guess if the desire is not there you can't do a lot about it :( I really hope you have more luck then I have Lisa :) x

    We are in a similar position, Benson will now retrieve (with some drive.. :)) in the garden, driveway etc...but no real interest on a walk. W did have a breakthrough yesterday when he retrieved a dummy out on a walk. I think it may have something to do with where we were walking, a quiet field that we have used since he was was a puppy, so he was very confident. Still it was good to see him running after AND picking it up! :) :)
