Sorry to have to post here again so soon, but we lost our lovely Molly this morning.

Her arthritis had been getting worse and she had developed a growth on her front left paw. The vet examined her and said that she is in a lot of pain and that the kindest thing to do would be to put her out of her pain. We were a bit shocked as she was in relatively good spirits today, although she had become increasingly lethargic over the past couple of weeks and was having difficulty walking more than a few yards.

The vet said that if today was a good day, she must be suffering a lot on her bad days. So we reluctantly agreed to follow her advice. It was very hard to say goodbye to such an important member of the family who has been with us for so many happy years, but she slipped away peacefully and she's not in any more pain.

Goodbye sweetheart and thanks for all the lovely memories.

So sorry to her your news, Paul. You did the kindest thing, for sure, but it still hurts so much to have to make the decision. Run free, sweet girl. You were loved.

I'm so terribly sorry to hear that.

You and Molly were lucky to have each other. Every dog deserves loving humans like you who will always put their dog's needs first, no matter how tough that is.

    You'll be in my thoughts.

So sorry you had to say goodbye to dear Molly today. It's the hardest thing we ever have to do for our beloved dogs, but it is the kindest thing too. In time, the hole she leaves behind will fill with the best memories ever.

Thanks everyone. I've changed my avatar to a photo we had taken about ten years ago. It's hanging on the wall in our kitchen and will always be there to remind us of our lovely girl.
