Hi We are really confused about the frequency of which our 13 week old is going pee. We take her out like 8 times a day and a lot of the time that's not even good enough and she'll end up going in her play pen or if we're hanging out on the bed. It's confusing because we read that a 3 month old lab is typically able to hold their pee for at least 3 hours. Today on our big evening walk she peed twice and then two hours later she went pee inside the house but we had stopped water intake for the day around dinner time. We give her plenty of water throughout the day. But we also take her to go pee often too so wondering why she's having so many accidents in the house. Does anyone have any good tips? We reward her when she goes outside. And thankfully she stopped going in her crate. We are also very grateful she is finally able to hold it at night between 11pm-6am. But we want to learn what can we do better with training her on holding it or at least letting us know she needs to. Any tips are much appreciated
It just takes time! I wouldn't expect a 13 week old to be completely reliable with toilet training and would still expect to take them outside to wee every hour if they are awake. The fact that she is dry overnight shows that she probably doesn't have an UTI (which is another cause of frequent weeing). She will gradually be able to hold it for longer during the day, but it can take some puppies as long as 6 months.
Training works best with a lot of positive reinforcement, which can be praise, attention, or food. Whenever you call him to you and he comes, always reward him with positive attention. This will help develop a strong recall and reinforce that if he does what you ask it's good! Showbox jiofi.local.html tplinklogin
