I am often on here with problems and worries and although I have many still, today I thought i'd share an interesting update in the abilities of a growing puppy. I think as my fellow lab owners, you will appreciate this.

So, this morning we learned that Tatti can now climb onto the sofa. This was inevitable i suppose but so begins the latest episode of negotiations.

As Tatti the Crocodile likes any excuse to play rough, i'm trialling the 'withdrawal of attention' technique. So, when Tatti jumped on the sofa earlier, I left the room. Now, I am not silly enough to leave her unsupervised (she is only 12 weeks old after all) so I open the little hatch we have between the kitchen (where i was hiding from her) and the living/diner (where she was causing trouble). I know - we have a hatch, its very uncool but its actually exceptionally practical. Anyway, on seeing me open the hatch Tatti jumped off the sofa, ran across the room, performed some kind of parkour manoeuvre from the floor, off my chair and desk, through the hatch and into my rather surprised arms.

So although i suppose this was the outcome i was looking for (she was no longer on the sofa), apparently it’s not just the soft furnishings she has access to now!

Perhaps we should stop feeding her the ‘Skinners Puppy: Trial and Field’ and look for a ‘Skinners Puppy: Cushion and Crate’!

    :)

On a serious note, though, it might be worth looking at the food. I don't know about the puppy one, but I know people have said their dogs are completely mental on the adult one and it's really only suitable for very active actual working dogs - and not even all of those.

It's always nice to make people smile :)

Re the food- I thought the same thing after doing a bit of research and the plan is to change her onto something slightly more suitable. We do still have about 10kgs of the sinners so may give it a week and then start a slow transition to something else.

Any recommendations, she will be 12 weeks tomorrow.

That's some impressive acrobatics, you couldn't write it!

We've fed Lola Skinners F&T puppy from just after we got her up until 8 months and I don't think she's been too manic on it, but then who knows, she may have been a completely calm puppy without it(!) Definitely worth having a look in to it though if you think it is affecting her behaviour.

Hehe that's hilarious, I wish there was a video! Sounds like you've got a real character on your hands ☺
I remember the first time I said "it's ok, she can't get up there" only for her to prove me wrong a second later!

Wish there was a video, you could have got £250 on YBF, too. Made me laugh, thank you for sharing.

Oops (Skinners), but I think Sinners is a much more aptly named dog food for my little bundle of mischief. She certainly has gluttony down to a T :)
