Re: Today's article: effective use of rewards Lynne, Kate is right, ask anyone on this forum, I got more things wrong than right and still do, I got myself in a right old state, but it didn't do me or Charlie any good at all. You are not getting it all wrong at all you are doing really well. You will learn if you take one step at a time. Jasper is a puppy so enjoy these months. Kate and Karen always say to me look at the positives and all the things Charlie can do and don't focus on the negatives. You will get there Lynne Onwards and upwards. Helen x
Re: Today's article: effective use of rewards awh i am so happy to have found this site, what lovely helpful people you all are, i am not beating myself up on the wrongs i have done, with not having a dog before, i am trying to get things so right, first things first good point, i have bonded with jasper more than i ever thought in my wildest dreams,no2, i have got the basics with the clicker to sit/lie/wait, no 3 i have now found the post all about clicker training, tomorrow is a new day, so i am going out in the garden with my imaginary circle, with my new word close, i will do this as it says a couple of times a day with 2 hour intervals, help, do i just perform this one lesson a day or do i introduce more things in the same day, oh and i can even hoover now, i did this with c and t, over a week, this morning was the first time he stayed on the couch whilst i hoovered round, my word for that was leave it, thank you so much
