It's gobsmackingly true .... never come across it before and it explains our total failure trying to house-train her as an adult when we first had her.

It's all very well knowing you (I) should stay with her in the garden at regular intervals but it was for such a looooong time we often gave in and returned indoors.

We know she was kept in a 'kennel' (big cage) for her first 3+ years and bred from her first season. I wonder if she was perhaps let out once a day and her body tuned itself to that rather than soil her small space?

I was thinking about what I had posted last night, she does wee first thing when we let her out at 6. But did nt again before 845. When i got back she did go again straight away in the garden. This was the first week her bed was wet.

My boys wake up early enough as it is, just in no hurry to get ready for school. Can't see us having time to walk together, maybe when Amy walks in a nice loose lead so its not all stop/starting! ! They get homework nearly every night and sometimes we need to finish that in the mornings too!

Maybe you need to get the boys up half an hour earlier for a "special Amy walk" before school, though you will need to have a super-dooper incentive (aka bribe......hmmm....)

I always had to walk the dog before school! And muck out... ::) ! Moan, whine. My parents were very tough!

Yes you really seem to have suffered ;)

Then walk miles, and miles, across the freezing, bleak, werewolf howling, Yorkshire moors to school... ;) I'm still traumatised!

That poor little dog. :( At least she is safe and happy with you now (and can pee as often as she wants, even if she chooses not to). ::)

In my world,my jokes are so funny!.....I'm not so deluded though that I don't realise that's it's not the case in everyone else's world! Hope I don't offend !x

We don't have a toilet command....but Dexter does his number 2 toilet 2x a day by the clock and he properly wees 4 times a day but does additional marks on walks....never really trained a command but say 'good boy wee wee' good boy poo poo'she he goes about the business ;D
We get up and out for our morning walk and it takes about 10 mins before he does 'good boy wee wee' ;)

That would be the bread and dripping you got to take in your can to school Julie.
