Re: Tomorrow
but we have lots of love, patience and time to give
Nothing that can't be sorted with those things as your starting point.
Re: Tomorrow Wishing you all the very best of luck. The only thing I thought was to be prepared for a dog that may have had a smelly accident en route. It's a long journey and I'm sure he'll get lots of breaks but you never know. A bath might be bonding but also you may just want to baby wipe the worst off and deal with it when you have more time.....
Re: Tomorrow That's a good point - I think Angela said Dex didn't smell that good after his flight to Dubai (or I might not be remembering that right and it was someone else). A big pack of baby or grooming wipes is a good idea.
Re: Tomorrow So excited for you! When casper arrived he had been travelling for the best part of 24 hours and in a very small crate with lots of other dogs. When we collected him he was just pleased to see people. We were gentle and matter of fact to keep him calm. He had a quick drink, leg stretch and wee then into our car for the home straight. He was a bit scruffy, smelt musty, his skin flaky, sores under his chin legs, etc. He didnt appear to understand any cues, didnt even have a name apart from the one the pound had given him. It was a shock tbh. Benson was brilliant, and we think that casper must've at some point been used to other dogs in the household. We introduced them on the driveway casper on a longish line and benson off lead. They became firm friends instantly and the first few hours was spent with benson bringing casper all his favourite toys We started crate training casper from day one and that has been a lifesaver, and helped with the initial days esoecially as casper wanted to follow us around like a ghost from room to room. We are home tomorrow morning very early and marcus is home monday so just shout if you want to use the secure paddock
Re: Tomorrow Good idea with the wipes - added to my shopping list for today He has been spoken to in English a lot and from what I can tell, the staff in Cyprus have been using his name a lot Thank you Kate, will be in touch
