We are up to exercise 3 page 100 i think it is, blowing whistle que as the dog comes towards you, for either treats or dinner. We have an issue though George knows when its dinner time and just follows us around, so its difficult for us to have dinner ready for him (even if we hide it) as well as him coming towards us in time to blow whistle and give it to him.... as he is just there! So can we make him site/wait away from us, the beckon him over blowing the whilst and then giving his dinner? Or is that not the point as we are making him stay and then might have to say his name to get him to come to us, then blowing whilst then giving dinner when he arrives.
Re: Total Recall Question/Issue Exercise 2 chapter 10? There is no forward movement involved, you blow the whistle as the dog is by your side. See points 2,3 and 4 in the instructions. Maybe you are on a different exercise or chapter?
Re: Total Recall Question/Issue I have an iPad version, so maybe the chapters are numbered differently - ignore me if it becomes obvious we are not talking about the same exercise! ;D Moving dinners is just about the dog moving towards you while you blow your whistle. So just walk backwards with his dinner in your hands. He'll follow you, and as he is walking towards you, blow your whistle.
Ah i se so there doesn’t necessarily have to be a distance, just he’s moving essentially? Thus i can stand there with his bowl him at my feet... move backwards thus he is moving with me...blow whistle put down and give it to him? No need for an actual distance between us at this stage?
Re: Total Recall Question/Issue That's right. Of course, you will encounter the problem you mention very soon, in the next few exercises, when you do need distance. I just had someone hold Charlie. Not ideal, but it worked.
I suppose its confusing for him to sit and wait so there is a distance, better for someone to just hold them to have that little bit of distance.
