Well our Maggie LOVED her pool ... and it was HER pool, lol!! She just let us use it! :) Maui is still not sure about the whole deal .... but hoping she'll grow into it. Thank you both for your comments!

I'm sure it won't be long before Maui is happily swimming around in the pool. Juno was 14 weeks when she had her first swim in the local lake - retrieving pine cones :D

My daughter is coming in a day or so with her two chocolates ... will be interesting to see how Maui reacts when they are swimming! Have to say she is totally 'worn out' today after yesterday with my son's dogs here ... they ran and played crazy, plus had my grandson overnight and all day today .... she is so mellow and sleepy today, hope she's just tired and not sick!

Think it's safe to say she's worn out after a busy few days. As long as she's eating, drinking and peeing/pooing there's not likely to be much wrong :)

Thanx Rosemary! Yes, she's eating, drinking, peeing and pooping .... and no accidents in the house for a few days too! She was just SO mellow last night!! I neglected to say too that it's REALLY hot here in GA. We've had mid 90's for almost 2 weeks now. Today is supposed to be worse. If not in the pool it's really too much to be out ... even Maui doesn't want to be out after she's finished her business! Maybe when my daughter gets here with her dogs that love to swim, Maui may find the pool more inviting too! I put her little tennis ball in there the other day and she tried to get that (on the shallow end with steps), proceeded to fall in and quickly got out, LOL!! She's much better this morning tho ... eaten, done her thing and is playing happily. But, we will be doing the crate thing in a bit since I have a lot to do to get ready for my daughter and granddaughters arriving later tonite. Thanx for the input! Oh, here's Maui with my grandson yesterday .... quite a challenge with both of them! Maui thinks he's just another toy! :)

it's so good though that she's growing up with young children, and the noises they make, and adult dogs. Introducing Juno to children has been one of my problem areas as we don't have any young children :(. Maui is bounded to be quieter if it's really hot as well, you don't want her running around too much or for too long in the heat. Don't you just love a mellow pup - Juno has always been a quiet girl, but definitely has her mad moments :D:D

Yes, it's really good and she sure is getting the exposure! It's a challenge with the little guy and her .... both have no idea about 'nice vs. rough' .... but will learn. Our neighbor brought her 6 and 8 year old over the other day so she got to see that size child and my daughter is on her way with her 6 and 8 year old as well the two chocolate labs!! My husband just said, 'how are we going to handle this with Maui's gates and the kids and dogs?' I told him chaotic, totally chaotic!! Smile and grin .... and enjoy I guess! But yes, regarding Maui and mellow ... I do love it and she's such a cuddly little thing when she's quiet! We do love our new little girl!

Sierra, the 'matriach' of the fur family, now that Maggie is gone, her 2 year old sister, Cocoa arrived with my daughter and two grandchildren last night. Great fun in the pool! Maui saw the other dogs swimming and actually ventured in a few times by herself! Funny times!

Lovely photo's and sounds as if Maui is coping very well, although tired. She's almost certain to copy the older dogs and join in the fun in the pool. Juno is so jealous of the pool, although she's hoping for a swim in our local lake this afternoon :D

Looks like Maui is having a great life so far!

Since you obviously have a lot of kids in your life, this little website may be of interest to you. It has some videos with fun songs for kids to learn how to safely interact with dogs, and information for you to spot any stress signs in your dog if the kids become a bit too much. It's definitely worth a watch and they're only a couple of minutes long each.
