Hi I have a Black Lab who's just turned 2 years old. I feel really bad for him as he has no toys, but its not because I don't get any for him it's just that as soon as I buy him a new one he literally destroys it in minutes. He's now taking to stealing just one of my slippers and when I get up on a morning I am greeted to a destroyed slipper, for some strange reason its always the left one. His record is 4 slippers in a week, 1 being less than a day old. I try hiding them but he finds them. My main question is what are the best (not too expensive) toys out there for labs. I live in the UK also.

I make toys out of old rock climbing rope. Most climbers and some climbing centers will give away old rope when it reaches the end of its life. A 50m length of used rope will make a LOT of tuggy toys & monkeys fist balls. Its also quite strong.

Hi and welcome to the forum! What is your boy's name?

I cut up old jeans into strips and tie them into knots. They love those. Or just trusty cardboard. The game isn't ended until the bits are the size of confetti and spread evenly all over your house ;)

Molly is also 2 and I haven't found any commercially produced toys that she hasn't destroyed. So toys are kept for us playing together which we do several times a day. The only things she has free access to are plastic bottles - large one or two litre lemonade bottles with lids removed - as although she chews these she doesn't break the plastic, and her bone collection. Many people on here disapprove of pet shop bones but Molly has a large collection that she returns to, buries and digs up etc, some of which have been lying around for over a year! Cardboard boxes were great when she was a pup but now she tends to swallow the bits so I've stopped.
All dogs are different - my last dog had a collection of cuddly toys that remained whole.

Hi and welcome from us, Hattie 8 years and rescue boy Charlie 4 years. I popped a squeeky ball into an odd sock, tied a knot in it and it's one of Charlie's favourite toys, inexpensive and just the ticket. I have also rolled up old tea towels and knotted them, Charlie loves those too. Helen xx :)
