Well due to an enforced rest for a broken toe I've been going back over widgeons early training to keep his mind active and I've noticed he's been a little lax sometimes. I have found, with some of his basic commands, he hesitates sometimes - unless I reach towards my pocket! I need to go back and retrain in a non-bribe way. I have searched back and read some old articles and watched a few videos, is it a case of going back to repeating the exercise, let's say a lay, firstly with the treat visible then the same hand movement and verbal command and treat on completion, then fade treats to random? I haven't used a clicker so far, will this help do you think?
