Training tip and advice

My wife and I recently got a yellow lab/golden mix 6 wk old puppy. I had a few questions I wanted to ask everyone.

We put him in a box the first nightor two but moved him to his crate the last 2 nights. He does pretty good for the most part and will wine when he needs to go to the bathroom in middle of the night. I am trying to get him use to his crate more and feel better about it. Any suggestions?

We have been feeding him about 1/4 cup 4 times a day. Is this a good amount usually?

We have gotten him some toys but he definitely nips still with being pet and other things. Does anyone have suggestions to help with this? I have heard of some bitter thing you can spray on things you don’t want him to bite to help. Is it ok or bad for the dog? He tries to eat leaves and mulch sometimes. I try to prevent as much as I can.

What do You suggestion putting in the Kong, treats or about chew toys?

Last what are some good training methods for leash training, basic commands etc?
