Thanks, I will keep an eye on her, was worried because I heard that pups can deteriorate quickly with these conditions, but I feel a bit better about it now. She does sniff and pick up anything in the street, people who see me walking her must think her name is 'leave it'!
No it isn't easy to know what causes it. We give our older dog (a Lab) chicken and rice when she has diarrhoea more than once. Red had a lot of digestive issues when a young puppy and I never found out why but I avoid chicken with her. I find Pro Kolin really good for an upset tummy and both dogs respond well to it. If it is just a one off bout though, I don't do anything - only if it persists. If it lasts several days, I ring the vets for advice. Sounds like you are doing exactly the right thing but if it persists I would check with your vet practice.
I think this is a one off bout thankfully, she only went once yesterday and then again this morning and that was a nice firm one - lovely! Relief for both of us, hopefully it will be ok now. It is handy to know there is something available for dogs to help with this, I checked Amazon out and found some Pro Kolin, also tummy settling tablets etc. I think I will get a first aid box together for her just in case. Thanks for your help.
