I think dogs just like humans have duvet days occasionally! ;)

see if it lasts.....I hope so, 5.45 is the middle of the night as far as I'm concerned.

I have a sleeper, he has never woken me up (not even on the first night here) and has always slept through. (I realise this is a rare and amazing thing).
I have taken it as compensation for my second child, who NEVER slept and nearly drove me insane with tiredness.

After my morning gots earlier and earlier, I made it a rule that before 6am, tough! We were still using the crate at that time though. Sometimes had to use a wee squirt of lemon juice as a deterrant (a "negative reinforcement"?? I know but it was a suggestion from our trainer, and it did work!).
Nowadays though, before 6am its "back to bed" in my sternest sleepy voice. After 6am she can come up on the bed, and if she jumps right back off I know its because she really DOES need out. My little camel usually refuses to go out at bedtime ::)

people seem to feed at different times - a personal choice really.

Digby was fed at 8 / 12 / 4 / 8 which then moved to 8 / 2 / 8 as he got a bit older. He always slept through fine. Maybe 5.30 is a bit early? You can always try giving him dinner a bit later for a few days and see if it helps. Its all trial and error.

thank you for reply, yes i was thinking may be later tonight, i fed him at 5 30, so next feed maybe around 1.00, then going to feed him his night feed at 7, see if that helps, i am worn out with the early mornings, :)
