Hi everyone, I was looking for some advice. We have two lovely labs, Daisy who is 6 and Max who is 3 and we were thinking of getting a lab pup from a rescue centre. Has anyone took the leap from 2 dogs to 3? What is the pros and cons of this? Thanks Rachel

You have to be a tad bonkers that's all I will say I ended up not quite intentionally with 3 Newfoundlands for quite some years....they all loved each other and we had no problems. We just needed a big truck to take them out...I guess it depends on the needs of the dogs...we could walk ours together quite easily as all they wanted to do was swim. 3 labs could be quite different though. I would say if you have the space, time and dogs that like dogs..go for it

Hi there and welcome! You should check out @snowbunny 's posts about Luna here on the Forum and her blog thislittledoggy.com. She has two adult Labs and just got a little girl to round out her yellow-black-chocolate trifecta. @Beanwood also has three dogs who seem to get along like gangbusters.

My personal experience was that two dogs were not that much more work than just one, but three were about 500x more work than two! Maybe it is that I'm single and needed a third hand to make it work. Or maybe that my third dog was a little devil rescue poodle who hated one of the other two so I had to watch him like a hawk. Actually, I do think it was the latter, as I managed just fine with up to four dogs when I was fostering and they all got along. So scrap what I said about 500x more work...apparently only true if one of your three is the devil incarnate masquerading as an adorable, fluffy teeny weeny toy poodle. :D

Hehe, I get my third little bundle back this morning, after a holiday with Auntie @JulieT. Right now, I'd say it's brilliant. Ask me again at 11am ;)

In all seriousness, I'm not really the right person to ask. I have two adult dogs and a puppy - that's hard, but not really any harder than it would be with a single adult dog and a puppy, I don't think, other than the fact introductions etc take twice as long (my two aren't entirely happy about the new arrival). I'm yet to experience the joys of a teenager with two adults, and then beyond to three adults together.

I'm looking forward to it, but I think it's a good job I don't need much sleep ;)
