i found a series of useful YouTube videos by Tyler Muto on teaching the obedience-style heel, which was all taught through reward-based training. Then when I was looking through to see what else he has I discovered one where he uses an ecollar! I was horrified. I must admit it's put me off using the ones I'd found first, though that doesn't make sense as I think they look to be just what I need. Think I'll go back to kikopup and see what's on offer there.
Well no, I hadn't heard of him. The kikopup video on heelwork is essentially the same as his - getting your dog to put their front feet on a box and rotate their back end - and usually I love kikopup. But in this case Tyler Muto breaks it down into much smaller steps, which is what I need. I was going to recommend it and then discovered his ecollar video which of course put me right off him as a trainer.
