Re: Ulcer on her eye She is back , the ulcer is worse so more painkilling shot and a very strong ointment four times a day . She has to go back at 9.30 a.m. tomorrow , possible surgery if there is no improvement, poor love :'(

Bacteria destroyed the cornea right down to the base layer and she needed a very complicated corneal graft in an attempt to save the eye. It all happened very quickly while she was in veterinary care. With hind sight I should have asked for a referral to an eye specialist. There is a lady called Cathy Ward, a veterinary eye specialist who practises at several locations in the South West. If Millie needs surgery it might be something to consider. Fingers crossed it won't come to it.
Re: Ulcer on her eye Thank you for the info Heidrun and no, you havent unduly alarmed me at all , I prefer to know whats what and have all possible information , the painkiller has knocked her for six , she is fast asleep so hopefully some healing might be taking place whilst she is resting x
Re: Ulcer on her eye My Callum also had an ulcer on his eye, he had surgery and was just fine. He had the op done at a vetinary hospital in Manchester - thank goodness for insurance. Hugs for Millie and licks from Tatze and Gypsy xxx

Re: Ulcer on her eye Ah Kate I've not been around the last couple of days but I did know Millie was poorly from Facebook ....but I didn't know it had deteriorated,I'm so sorry,best thing is if she is knocked out by the shot,he's not in lain if she's asleep poor little love x

Re: Ulcer on her eye Very sorry to read that Millie's ulcer is worse. The vet may suggest that the eyelid is sewn down so that the eye is shut and gives it time to recover. Let's hope the ointment will work, you must feel so much for her, she looks such a dear little soul.
