Re: Upset tum...... She seems fine in herself thanks Angela, maybe a bit quieter than normal... I thought she was better today so we went to training. She had to stop in the middle of a retrieve to, errr, relieve herself, poor love! Couldn't see in the dark what the results of our nighttime garden visit were - will have to get out there with the shovel tomorrow morning. Yum. Anyway, going back to bed now. Glad Dexter is better.

Re: Upset tum...... Thanks Teena Ann....how long did it take to get Coopers tummy right?I can't help,with your question I'm sorry ,ive only fed dexter on kibble this is the first time I've broken Way from that.if Cooper was on other food for a while maybe he's just got the taste for that and has become fussy?you say he will only eat at noon of there is something interesting in his bowl.....how about trying leaving him until dinner time,he would be really hungry then and that might make him more keen to eat.ive read that if he doesn't eat his meal within 15 mins lift it up from the floor and try again a the next meal time.....don't let them have food available all the time...no chance with Dexter,his meal is gone in 30 seconds
Re: Upset tum......
his meal is gone in 30 seconds
30 seconds??! Brew says Dex is a s-l-o-w eater... ;D Clare
Re: Upset tum...... Charlie takes 18 seconds on avergae. And that's WITH a 'slow eater' bowl. Harry takes about 6 minutes, seriously. I just don't think he sees the point of food. If you can't chase it, and it doesn't make a noise, why bother!? Hope all the poorly pups are on the mend now.

Re: Upset tum...... Riley is like chalk and cheese.....one minute food is the least interesting thing in the world and the next he's practically inhaled it!! Funny things these dogs! :
Re: Upset tum...... Harley used to eat hers in 15-20 seconds max. We now give her most of her food in her kong wobbler.....it takes between 5-10 minutes for her to get it all out and allows us to eat at the same time....definitely worth investing in one
Re: Upset tum...... Oh we've had a relapse.....I'm off to the vets tomorrow!hes hungry and excited about his walks but very quiet and sleepy otherwise
Re: Upset tum...... Oh no Angela, I really hope Dexter will be OK, let us know how you get on at the Vet. {{xxx}}}
Re: Upset tum...... Yes, still upset tummy on day 3 is definitely vet visit time. Get well soon, Mr Pops!

Re: Upset tum...... Hey Angela forCooper the runs stopped after a few days don knw exactly neva kept a count of it it all depends on ur pups immunity tats wat my vet tld me keep giving him supplements nd watever your vet has tld u too follow im sure he will get better hopin to hear from u soon.Cooper nd me wish Dexter a gud recovery ...As for Cooper no matter hw long i keep d food he neva touches his kibble if i give him vegetables mixed wid rice he neva eats it he goes hungry for most of the tym tat is he eats oly if der is meat in his bowl i don knw how to make him eat his food i neva force him nd give wat he wants i.e i cant give him meat everyday as i fear it would reinforce the habit im worried if anybody can help me in this i would be really happy :-[ :-[ he is healthy and weighs 23kgs and also very active
Re: Upset tum...... Thanks for your best wishes Teena Ann...I'm sorry that I haven't got anything else practical to offer you for Cooper,I know the choice of dog food might not be so readily available for you there or I would suggest maybe changing the type of kibble?i just don't know Dexter is ok...he's still not 100%..... The vet has checked him for. Giardia....negative,had a good feel of him....no blockages or gas....one of the benefits of a lean dog she said she could have a really good exam of his gut.....he sat down on her knee while she was examining him the daft boy!she thinks it's probably due to the maggoty mouse.....he's had a jab today that she says will constipate him for a day ,I'm to start metrozinadole( think I'm spelling it right) as a precaution against a single cell parasite,a probiotic,and rice and chicken for another day then start reintroducing his kibble......she will worn him again when he firms up properly.he's full of beans....there's a story about that coming up in Labrador Behaviour but I'll check out everybody else's news first... Is Poppy improved today Karen?hope so x
Re: Upset tum...... Yes thanks Angela, she's back to full health. No idea what set her off with the upset tum - could be so many things - but I think things are more worrying out where you are, there are definitely more parasites etc. Hope Dexter is back to bouncing health again soon! x
