I tried Ariel with sardines 3 weeks ago....she loved them while out training, then sicked them all back up on the kitchen floor. Such a sensitive tummy.....hope she doesn't lose her lab status!
Ok all you sardine experts - which is best? In brine, tomato sauce or sunflower oil? Have just started mixing one with Maisy's dinner and she loves them!!
I rotate them. The oil ones seem to have the most immediate effect on her coat, and I drain the brine away, but she likes all of them. Or liked, until she decided it was time for another food upgrade
Cant go wrong with Tomato and wild caught once just to top it off. Or to up the reward nice herring in tomato... Will add I have them in a small tuperware and my hands smell nice after her treat, but we only use them for recall.
I’ve started using small cat food fish sachets - I have a peg to close them after using - when I get home I use what’s left in Kongs for freezing. Thanks to @selina27 for reminding me!
Thanks for the sardine advice, I will go with tomato as I think this also reduces the acid in wee, therefore saving a few blades of grass on my lawn. I have some dried sprats I take on walks in a tuppaware pot for recall reward at the moment, lovely and stinky!
I got a box of free samples of James Wellbeloved sachets with a recent order. They're about the same size as a cat food pouch, so perfect to go in a pocket and use as a high value emergency reward. The dogs love them. http://www.zooplus.co.uk/esearch.ht...3Dog%3EWet%20Dog%20Food%3EJames%20Wellbeloved
