Sometimes I look at the boards here, and feel a bit muddled. There are so many now, and I haven't really looked at the way these are arranged, in quite some time.

I am thinking about dividing the boards into more sections, and grouping things better, so that it is a bit more 'organised'.

What do you guys think? Any suggestions? Any boards you think we should add/split/move. Or should I just 'leave well alone' :)

It's your place too, so say what you think

I'm biased as this is my newly adopted home .... go for it; it isn't muddly but it never hurts to take a fresh look and reorganise if the mood takes you :)

Personally I rarely look at the Home Page and always use the Posts Since Last Visit to keep me up to date.

Hmmm, not sure. I think it works fine, but would have to have more info on what you were thinking of doing before making any informed comments.

Ooh, that's interesting, is that what others do? - I tend to go straight to the bottom and look at the list of recent posts.

I used to do the same MMM when I first joined but the forum is so busy now ;D ...I tend to choose topics which based on my amount of free time to indulge on the forum, sometimes not a lot, so basically being quite a high user and being familiar with a lot of the members and their dogs,my first stop is always Health to check how everyone is doing ....I then work through the boards from the top of the list after that.
    Thanks for asking Pippa x

Me too - unread posts first, then once they are clear click on ALL unread posts on the empty banner, then new replies to your posts, just in case I have missed something.
I usually scan posts I have posted in first (after the moderators board) then all the others, but am not always obsessive at starting at the oldest, I usually do though.
    Probably TOO much information. :D
And if I am looking for something specific, I just use search rather than look in each board/section. I don't find the search so intuitive as it could be but I can't elaborate on that, just that it throws things up in an odd order possibly. But I still find things I need I think.
Works good as it is for me.

Yep, I always use 'Show unread posts' too.

If you reorganise the boards, will we all have to stay on topic??! Where a post starts and where it finishes can have very little in common... ::) I love that aspect of this forum though, that threads evolve just like face-to-face conversations and get carried along on bursts of enthusiasm and excitement.

The area that I think can get a bit confused at times is the distinction between puppies / Labrador behaviour. 'Puppy' can be interpreted by users as referring only to the very small and fluffy, as opposed to lasting well beyond the 'Ahhh...' stage. Maybe age guidelines in the headings?? Having said that, it doesn't offend me at all, and when people come across the forum because they are desperate for advice in a hurry, it doesn't really matter where they post, because someone lovely will always come along and help out.

I only look at the home page - which means I miss some stuff, sometimes I see it later when someone posts on a thread that has fallen off the home page, but that's ok.

    Unread posts too.

i was getting annoyed at first as i couldnt find the "show unread posts since last visit" button.

but then i found it and happiness flowed.

it is what i always used to use on another forum i used to go on (dont go there anymore as i had to sell the car because of the dog) it is what most people used there too.

On my parrot forum we have a very similar button but its called Active Topics. We did a poll a few years back and found over 85% of our members used it to keep up to date
