On Friday afternoon Mabel disappeared down to the bank which leads to the brook. She did recall only after she had had a long rummage in the grass. She has a pretty robust tummy so I was hoping that all would be fine. Unfortunately it wasn't she suddenly started vomiting at 10.30 at night and then by 1 o'clock in the morning she had diarrhoea as well. Poor girl was so out of sorts luckily I had decided to sleep on the sofa. She then started passing blood, the vet saw her within the hour. She had an anti sickness injection followed by a cocktail of drugs. We are back at the vets on Friday, today she seems a lot better but still quiet. Possibly be 5th night on the sofa for me tonight. I absolutely love my girl but I wish she was a fussy eater and I need to work on "leave it". Sorry this is another poo story
Oh Claire, poor Mabel There's been a lot of tummy bugs lately. I really hope she recovers quickly and you don't have to spend too many nights on the sofa. xx
Hey, when you have a dog, really a lot of your shared happiness revolves around when she's having a poo, what kind of poo it is and where she has it. But on a more serious note, I hope she does better quickly and you get off the sofa for a good night's sleep. If it makes you feel any better, I was blessed with one of those dogs who was a fussy eater AND had a world-class ability to not eat anything off the floor, ever. Seriously, even if someone tossed a cookie at him and he missed it, he just sit there looking mournfully at the floor until someone either picked it up for him or said "Take it". Despite all that, he still got a regular dodgy tummy syndrome - including what I used to call "horizontal diarrhoea".
Oh dear, I hope Mabel recovers quickly and you can then sleep better too. If only labs weren't scavengers...
Hope she's better soon. Love them just wish they would be a but more selective about what they see as food
Yay, Mabel is back to normal. Two healthy poos . No more sleeping on the sofa. I thought I was going to have to abandon our trip down the M42 today to visit my parents. Luckily she recovered just in time and celebrated by jumping all over my mum.
