So we are in the middle of our usual bedtime routine - Penny comes up to the bedroom with me whilst OH stays up late watching TV. She settles down on the bed whilst I go in the bathroom.

I come back in to find eight puddles of vomit (one big one on the bed!) and her in the middle of creating number nine! *sigh* 9pm on a Sunday night...just what I needed.

So I usher her downstairs, pausing for her to have a retch in the hallway, and put her to bed in the kitchen whilst I gather up the cleaning supplies; carpet cleaner, kitchen roll, sponge, poo bags and my wonderful simple solution stain and odour remover. Half an hour later and the carpet is clean (if rather wet!). Not sure what to do about the duvet though as by the time I got to it the liquid had already seeped in! I cleaned up the chunks, sprayed it to high heaven with simple solution (god I love that stuff!) and dumped it in the spare bedroom to dry. I'll wash the sheets tomorrow but thank goodness I have a spare duvet for tonight.

Penny is banished to the kitchen - no bedtime cuddles tonight in case she's sick again (gotta love laminate flooring!). Not sure what triggered this....me and OH are trying to rack our brains, she had nothing different today except two small mouthfuls of hubby's leftover pork from dinner...but even that she has had once before with no adverse reaction....oh well. The joys of owning a dog!

Thanks all. I don't think she's too ill as I gave her two small peices of her kibble when I put her to bed which she wolfed down so definitley not lost her appetite! I bet she'll be starving by the morning as she threw up her tea!!

Just wanted to add make sure she has some water, as I would have thought being sick that much would maybe make her a bit dehydrated, I am sure you thought of that anyway, poor Penny xx

PS Duvets, even down and feather ones, will wash just fine. They are best dried in large drums of commercial dryers though rather than home ones, gets them all fluffy again - so a trip to the local laundrette might be in order...

She seems fine this morning thanks, if a little sulky because she only got a half sized portion for breakfast and wasn't allowed to lick out my yoghurt pot when I had finished!!

I'm convinced it was the pork that didn't agree with her even though it was a very small amount that she had, I know it can be very fatty, so no more pork for her!!

Work up this morning and found that cat had decided not to use his litter tray and pee on the floor - so more carpet cleaning. they say bad things come in threes...what's next??

Aw she's being really clingy this morning, I've just sat down for five mins before I leave for work and she's jumped straight up beside me and climbed on my lap!

Oooh how horrible! Hope she's better this evening, and that the cat uses the cat tray properly in future too!
