Yes, precisely. Unfortunately, according to the breed laws in the countries I've looked at so far (Germany and Spain) a dog who is visibly mixed with any "listed" dog is considered to be that breed. Which means if this boy is considered a Rottweiler I am back to the same problems I had with Brogan. It is not an issue that I do not love this breed with all my heart, simply that because of these laws, I worry constantly about keeping my dog safe. It's just a perpetual threat over your head that someone could seize your dog simply because they belong to a restricted breed. Plus more hassles on the street, at security checkpoints. Being denied entry to places because "a Rottweiler can't possibly be a real service dog" despite all my ID and documentation to prove to the contrary. People in authority a lot the time see what they want and act how they want despite national laws. I always needed to keep a calm, polite demeanour when sometimes I wanted to punch someone or just sit down and cry like a toddler.

Brogan was 100% worth it and if I could have him back I'd do it all over again without a second thought. And we had lots and lots very positive experiences - it was far from all bad. However, it's a big thing to take on with a new dog and something I need to think long and hard about.

I was kind of hoping in this dog's case that I was seeing the Rottweiler because I have a huge Rottie-shaped soft spot in my heart and that you all would see something else. But it kind of looks like we're all seeing the same thing!
