Our almost 11 week old puppy hates going on walks because she doesn't want to leave our yard. Has anyone else had this issue. I have only tried walking her in the morning when its kinda dark so maybe she is afraid of the dark. Any advice to make her like walks? I usually have to drag her away from the house and then she gets a little better when she can't see the house but still keeps trying to get back to the yard. Note: I did ask my vet and he said walks are good for her and she should be able to walk up to 30 mins. Our walks are usually only 10 minute, but I want to let it be known I checked with our vet before taking her on a walk.
Yes, it's very normal. I carry the pup for the distance I want to go then walk the pup back. It works every time and they soon grow out of it, then the challenge is teaching them not to pull!
