@leejane @SwampDonkey and anyone else who would like to join us. I thought it would be nice to walk in the south Warwickshire countryside. It is a circular walk but unfortunately our dogs would not be able to manage the distance so I thought we would walk part of it taking in at least one little pond. I walked it last week and took a few pictures, there is a small portion of the walk that is on lead but it's mostly off lead. If you don't fancy the walk no problem I have a couple of alternatives in my head.

There are plenty of places to park, and it's easy to drive to.

Sunday suits me better if that's okay with everyone I've checked my diary and I'm busy on Sunday 10th and 18th and in the Lake District from 1st-8th October and my son is 30 on 28th October so that weekend will be busy.

That would be lovely, I know Berkswell, it's very pretty, but have never walked around there. A bit of on lead is fine with me. Apart from the next two weekends, my Sundays are free so happy to go with whatever date suits best. Thanks x

Oh @SwampDonkey hope things are better for you now. The on lead bits are about 10 mins from the car to fields and then a further 5-10 mins which is close to the lake. (It's private property and we are not allowed to walk around it).

@leejane I haven't forgotten about organising the walk, just thinking that Monty needs sometime to recover, and maybe Moo as Im sure I had read she was a little under the weather too @SwampDonkey if The Berkswell walk is too far another favourite of mine is in Coundon Wedge. The best place to meet would be at The Ems, Allesley Village CV5 9TZ. I'm thinking it's a little closer for you. It is literally all off lead with a little steam to have a paddle in. Mabel sends big Labrador licks to Monty, Rory and Moo. Xx

I just got back from a big walk with Rory. Ive been out for nearly 3 hours because I had to hide in a bush for ages as I got caught in a rain and hail storm:D we had the best fun ever and pretty dry considering . Totally worn out though

@SwampDonkey We were in the woods when the thunder started luckily Mabel isn't scared we missed the rain. No hiding in bushes for us today. :D. When you get chance don't forget to check your diary for possible dates or our walk. :)

Am I the first to think Berkswell is a very appropriate name of a place to do doggy walks?

(For all our non-English members, it's pronounced "Barks well".

Haha, it's not pronounced "Barks well" but "Berks well". Unlike Berkshire which is pronounced Barkshire. According to local history the name is derived from the Anglo Saxon Bercul. It is a lovely little village full of history although best avoided when the children start and finish school as the place is overrun by yummy mummys.

Ok these are the dates I've got available. 071017 081017 or 141017 141017. I'm due chemo at the end of Sept so I rather not do end of Sept if poss. If it's hard for anyone else I will give it a try and if I'm too ill give it a miss. Hope that's any good ?

I've always said it Berks well, but I am an uncouth brummie :)

Everyone where I work in Solihull (its local authority) would say the same I think, but maybe officially it should be Barks?

But I also life close to the following,
Wilnecote is pronounced Wincut, Warton is pronounced Wah-tun and Bedworth is Beduth. All wrong in my head:rolleyes:

Yes the SATNAV also says "barks" but that's not the way anyone pronounces it locally. :)
